De Hollandsche Schouwburg is een verzamelplaats voor opgepakte Joden. Ze wachten er op transport naar kamp Westerbork.
Vanuit de crèche aan de overkant wordt een systeem op gang gebracht om zoveel mogelijk kinderen uit de handen van de Duitsers te redden. Sieny Cohen-Kattenburg werkt hier als verzorgster aan mee. Ted Musaph-Andriesse komt als 15-jarig meisje ook in de crèche terecht.
