One of the few streets in Berlin that could be NYC. The Park Hotel skyscraper at one end and canyon like apartments line either side. The city sounds, rumbling trams, are present but distant. Right here is quiet. Little happens. A man gets into his car, the door clunks shut, with windows open he finishes his cigarette, then, with no warning, drives off. The car is electric and almost noiseless. Its sudden movement is a surprise, less noticeable to the ear than rolling luggage and the women cyclists chatting moments later. Is this really part of our sonic future?
