In dit loofbos vind je vooral zomereik en ruwe berk. Dit is een bostype dat vaak voorkomt op de droge en voedselarme Kempische zandgronden. Hier en daar staan ook robinia?s. In de struiklaag vind je lijsterbes, sporkehout, Amerikaanse vogelkers en Amerikaans krentenboompje. De laatste twee zijn exoten.
In het bos hoor je soms boomklever, die je nu hoort, en boomkruiper.
