Boven deze open plek kan je vaak roofvogels waarnemen. Bijzonder is de wespendief die hier vanaf mei tot eind augustus verblijft. Hij voedt zich met hommels, bijen en andere insecten, soms met kleine zoogdieren, vogels of reptielen. De grijze zandbij staat gelukkig niet op zijn menu.
Je hoort nu het miauwende geluid van de buizerd.
