Hier heb je veel kans om een blauwe reiger of een grote zilverreiger te zien. Het zijn de twee meest algemene reigers van het Griesbroek. Verder zijn ook al de zeldzamere soorten roerdomp, purperreiger en kwak reeds gezien.
Reigers herken je vooral aan hun uitzonderlijk lange halswervels waardoor ze genoodzaakt zijn om bij het vliegen, en gewoonlijk ook in rust, hun nek in een S-bocht te houden.
