In een vorig LIFE-project herstelde Natuurpunt hier een aantal landduinen. De dennenaanplanten werden, samen met de omheiningen, verwijderd. Zo kwam dit ven ook terug helemaal open te liggen. De specifieke soorten komen nu terug naar dit gebied.
Op de hoogtekaart kan je goed de paraboolduin zien die hier is ontstaan. De rode bol is de locatie waar je nu staat.
