Verderop langs het pad zien we steeds meer jonge Zomereikjes en Beukjes in de ondergroei. Hier vind je ook meer paddenstoelen die op de wortels van Zomereiken leven: Cantharel, Slanke amaniet, Eekhoorntjesbrood en Heksenboleet. De Cantharellen vind je vooral op kale hellinkjes of op zandige plekken langs het pad. Let ook op de blauwzwarte Gewone mestkever.
