De vogelkijkhut biedt uitzicht op de plassen. Bij de plassen zitten onder andere dodaars, grauwe ganzen, Canadese ganzen, en ringslangen. De bruine kiekendief jaagt langs de oevers. Bij droge zomers vallen de plassen bijna droog. Door de verdroging is het onduidelijk hoelang de plassen nog plassen blijven.
