Onderhoud van bijzondere natuur
Net buiten het Nationaal Park Drents-Friese Wold ligt het Leggelderveld, een bijzonder gebied met de laatste stukjes hoogveen in Nederland. Het meeste hoogveen is vroeger afgegraven voor turf. Deze natuur blijft bestaan door Plaggen en het kappen van bomen.
