Hierdoor is het gebied van Zevenhutten sterk verdroogd. Dit zie je o.a. aan de massale opkomst van braam en adelaarsvaren in het bos. Om de variatie in de ondergroei te vergroten, zou het goed zijn om de sloot af te dammen.
