The triangle of schools The municipality decided to change its urban development policy in 1935. Before that time construction was done in closed construction blocks from that moment on the policy was to develop the city further with a principle that is called stroke allotment. The goal was to intertwine living, working and recreation. Key points in the policy were light and air. Trees were planted between the houses, mostly in groups of three. Bos & Lommer pioneered this new way of developing urban landscapes and was the first area to be developed in such a way. The area is called the triangle of schools because of the 4 schools that have been built in this green city area after the second world war.
