Het knooppunt Admiraal de Ruijterweg - Jan Evertsenstraat heeft een aparte geschiedenis. De interlokale tram Amsterdam - Haarlem - Zandvoort had er de halte 'Krommert'. Na de opheffing van die lijn in 1957 bleef de naam in zwang bij de stadstram. Het binnenterrein is als het ware de bodem van de sloot de Krommert die daar liep en waarvan pas in 1959 het laatste deel werd gedempt. Het herenhuis op nummer 95 draagt ook nog de naam.
