A former village which became a city of its own in 1912, St-Michel was annexed as a neighbourhood of Montreal in 1968. Located in the north-east of the city, the area intersects with the Miron and Francon quarries, both of which ceased their industrial activities at the end of the 1980s and have now gone through an intense process of conversion. Different leisure and cultural institutions are now located there. The district, which covers a large territory where nearly 39,700 people live (Montreal Statistics, 2013), is also crossed by the Metropolitan highway. Bubbling with life, St-Michel is home to many of the province’s newcomers.
The youth who live in St-Michel have many stories to tell. They invite you to discover what their neighborhood makes them think about, and what inspires and is important to them.
To begin your adventure, go to the St-Michel metro. Have a fun tour!
