Na het Fort bij Vijfhuizen kom je uit op de Cruquiusdijk, op de grens van Haarlemmermeer en Haarlem. Circa 100 meter links van dit punt ligt het Gemaal Koning Willem I, één van de hoofdgemalen van de Haarlemmermeerpolder.
Dit gemaal is het startpunt van de IVN-fietsroute over de Geniedijk van Vijfhuizen naar Aalsmeer. Deze route vind je ook in de IVN-routeapp: Geniedijk Haarlemmermeer (start Vijfhuizen).
